McArthurMorgan Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to all courses offered by McArthurMorgan Ltd. Where terms differ between course types, this is clearly indicated. All students are subject to the General Terms set out at the end of this document regardless of course type.
On-Demand Courses
Course Options
McArthurMorgan offers two types of On-Demand course access: a Lifetime Licence and a Monthly Subscription.
Both options include access to soft copy course materials, tutor and video support, question and workbook debriefs, mock exam debriefs, and all associated revision and learning content. All content is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Tutor support is available by email, phone, and through Zoom community study sessions, and is most commonly accessed through our online community space where you can engage directly with tutors and fellow students.
Lifetime Licence
The Lifetime Licence grants you a permanent licence to the course materials relevant to the AAT syllabus in place at the time of purchase. This licence does not expire.
Please note that the AAT periodically updates its syllabus. This is entirely outside our control. Your materials will remain accessible under your licence but will relate to the syllabus version in place when you purchased. When a syllabus update occurs, existing Lifetime Licence holders will be offered the option to purchase updated materials at a heavily discounted rate. There is no obligation to do so.
The Lifetime Licence includes soft copy course materials. Hard copy materials are available as an optional add-on at a heavily discounted rate and can be purchased through your course portal once you have started your course.
Monthly Subscription
The Monthly Subscription requires an upfront payment to purchase your soft copy course materials, followed by an ongoing monthly fee which covers access to tutor support, video content, and all associated learning resources.
If you cancel your subscription, you retain your soft copy materials. Video access and tutor support will cease upon cancellation. If you wish to restart your subscription at any point you will not be required to pay the initial upfront fee again. Please contact the team to reinstate your access.
Right to Cancel and Cooling-Off Period - On-Demand Courses
You have a legal right to cancel your purchase within 14 days of enrolment under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Soft copy course materials are made available to you immediately upon enrolment. These materials are identical to those available as a standalone product in our shop, which any student may purchase independently without tutor support or video access. By completing your purchase you confirm that you have expressly requested immediate access to digital content and that you understand your right to cancel will be lost as soon as you access those materials.
If you access your soft copy materials at any point during the 14-day period, your right to cancel is surrendered from that point.
Cancellation by Lifetime Licence Holders Within 14 Days
If you are a Lifetime Licence holder and you cancel within the 14-day period having accessed your soft copy materials, a cancellation charge will apply equal to the current standalone retail price of the soft copy materials for your course. This reflects the genuine market value of a product we sell independently to other customers. It is not a penalty. Once soft copy materials have been accessed, you have received a product of real commercial value that cannot be returned, and the charge reflects this.
If you cancel within the 14-day period and have not accessed any soft copy materials, you are entitled to a full refund.
Cancellation by Lifetime Licence Holders After 14 Days
Once the 14-day cooling-off period has expired, Lifetime Licence holders are not entitled to a refund. You have purchased a permanent licence and we will continue to honour that licence in full. This is the nature of a lifetime purchase and you are encouraged to ensure this is the right option for you before completing your purchase.
Cancellation by Monthly Subscription Holders Within 14 Days
If you are a Monthly Subscription holder and your soft copy materials have been made available to you during the 14-day period, your upfront payment is non-refundable. This upfront payment represents the standalone retail price of the soft copy materials for your course, which are identical to those available as a standalone product in our shop. You are however entitled to cancel all future monthly payments and no further charges will be taken. You will retain your soft copy materials.
Cancellation of your subscription can be managed directly from within your portal.
Campus-Plus and Live Online Courses
Course Options
Campus-Plus and Live Online courses include live online tuition, revision sessions, class notes, mock exams, homework support and learning materials. Students also receive access to the online learning portal which contains digital course materials, homework resources and recordings of live sessions where available.
Campus Sessions
Campus-Plus courses are primarily delivered live online. Where sufficient demand exists, some tutorials may be delivered in person at our campus location. These sessions typically represent approximately 30 to 40% of tutorials but will only take place where at least three students register to attend. Where there is insufficient demand, the session will be delivered online only. Campus sessions cannot be guaranteed and the course fee reflects the live online delivery of the course.
Tutor and Portal Support Period
Access to the learning portal and tutor support is included in the course fee for the following periods:
L2 Bookkeeping - 2 terms
L3 Bookkeeping - 3 terms
L2 and L3 Bookkeeping - 5 terms
L2 Accounting - 3 terms
L3 Accounting - 5 terms
L4 Accounting - 6 terms
L2 and L3 Accounting - 6 terms
There are 3 terms per year:

Once this period expires, portal access will be removed. Students who wish to continue studying should contact their course manager. A one-month extension may be granted on a complimentary basis to allow students to review their progress and determine how much additional access they require.
Further extensions are available at the following rates:
Level 2 - £50 per month
Level 3 - £75 per month
Level 4 - £100 per month
Right to Cancel and Cooling-Off Period - Campus-Plus and Live Online Courses
Where a course is purchased online or at a distance, students have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of enrolment under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Access to the learning platform and digital course materials is provided immediately upon enrolment. If a student accesses the learning platform or any course materials during the cooling-off period, the supply of digital content and tuition services is considered to have begun. Cancellation after access may therefore result in the full course fee becoming payable, with any refund calculated in accordance with the cancellation terms below.
Cancellation During a Campus-Plus or Live Online Course
A course refers to the student's full enrolment, not individual units. All deposits are non-refundable and are retained to cover the digital course materials and learning resources made available immediately upon enrolment.
If a student cancels after enrolment, any refund will be calculated as the course fee minus the deposit and minus the higher of £100 per month from the month of enrolment to the month of cancellation, or the proportion of the course fee relating to any unit where teaching has commenced.
Once teaching for a unit has commenced, that unit is considered supplied and cannot be resold. Student attendance at live sessions does not affect this calculation. Refunds and cancellation charges are based on course access and teaching commencement, not attendance or use.
Deposits
Where course fees are paid in full, the deposit is defined as the higher of £195 per level purchased or 20% of the total course fee.
Prepaid Exam Fees
Where a course includes prepaid exam fees, McArthurMorgan will pay for the first attempt of each modular exam, provided the assessment is sat within the applicable tutor support period. Prepaid exams relate only to the AAT syllabus in place at the time of enrolment and are not transferable to a new syllabus unless agreed in writing between the student and McArthurMorgan at enrolment.
Exam Fees
Exam fees must be paid in full at the time of booking. Where an exam booking is cancelled or rescheduled more than 7 days before the exam, a 50% administration fee will apply. Where an exam booking is cancelled or rescheduled 7 days or less before the exam, the full exam fee is non-refundable. Any exceptions remain at the discretion of McArthurMorgan Ltd.
Where exams are booked directly with external providers or examination centres, those bookings will be subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant provider. McArthurMorgan Ltd is not responsible for the administration, rescheduling or cancellation of exams booked externally.
General Terms - Applicable to All Students
Hard Copy Materials
Hard copy materials are available as an optional purchase and are fulfilled by a third-party supplier dispatched directly to your address. For On-Demand students, hard copy materials are available at a heavily discounted rate and can be purchased through your course portal. For Campus-Plus and Live Online students, hard copy materials may be provided as part of your course where applicable.
Once materials have been dispatched they are considered supplied and are non-refundable. If materials have been opened or used beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect them, a deduction will be applied to any applicable refund to reflect the reduction in resale value. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
Syllabus Updates
From time to time the AAT may update or replace a syllabus. When this occurs, the AAT will normally provide a transition period allowing existing students to complete their qualification. McArthurMorgan will inform students of the relevant deadlines and available options where a syllabus change occurs. Course materials and resources provided at enrolment relate to the syllabus current at that time.
It remains the student's responsibility to ensure that AAT deadlines for completing their qualification are met. If a student does not complete their qualification before the syllabus expires and wishes to continue studying on the updated syllabus, new materials may need to be purchased.
On-Demand students who hold a Lifetime Licence will be offered updated materials at a heavily discounted rate should the syllabus change. There is no obligation to purchase.
Use of McArthurMorgan Proprietary Materials
During your course you will receive access to learning materials created by McArthurMorgan including videos, written content, software and images, referred to as Proprietary Materials.
All Proprietary Materials remain the intellectual property of McArthurMorgan Ltd.
Students are granted a limited personal licence to use these materials for their own study only.
Students must not copy, distribute, sell, share, reproduce, or create derivative works from these materials without written permission from McArthurMorgan.
Downloadable materials supplied as part of the course such as integrated workbooks, course slides and revision kits may be downloaded and used for personal study only.
Acceptance of Terms
By enrolling on a course and accessing the learning platform, students confirm that they agree to these Terms and Conditions and any additional course information provided during enrolment. Course materials and access will only be provided once these terms have been accepted.
